Who Is Eligible?
Children and parents may apply for NJ FamilyCare. To be eligible, you must be without health insurance for at least three months. There is no waiting period if you have recently lost employment due to a reduction in staff. There are some exceptions to this rule, so contact the Horizon NJ Health Outreach Center toll free at 1-800-637-2997 for more information. Children who have lost eligibility for Medicaid or NJ FamilyCare may apply immediately.
Eligibility is based on the number of people in your family and family's total income.
