Cultural Competency

New Jersey is one of the most culturally diverse states. Horizon NJ Health fully recognizes the importance of serving its members in a culturally and linguistically appropriate manner. We are committed to:

  • Working with members to identify cultural or linguistic barriers to care and overcoming those barriers.
  • Utilizing culturally sensitive educational materials to represent the members’ race, ethnicity and primary language.
  • Make certain that the member and provider services staff recognize the culturally diverse needs of the population.
  • Teach staff to value the diversity of their co-workers and the members served.

Horizon NJ Health is committed to ensuring that its network of providers are attuned to meeting the diverse needs of its members.
